Last month, Ms. Jessica Clark’s Journalism class (MYP 4&5 Elective) embarked on an inspiring field trip to the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico. From breathtaking art to delicious local flavors, the young journalists soaked up every moment. Here’s what they had to say about their experience:
“The field trip to Museum de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico (MAC) turned into an exploration of creativity and culture, a blend of modern and traditional art style. From thought-provoking exhibits to the calming atmosphere of the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico Garden. Lunch in the Miramar Food Truck Park was a great way to end the day, as there were many varieties of foods to try. The journalism class bonded over the delicious meals, sharing laughs and conversations at the picnic tables.” -Yuxin Liang Qian
“On Wednesday, Jan. 15 Ms. Clark took the journalism class on a field trip to the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (M.A.C). We were able to explore the museum at our own pace and really enjoy the different exhibits that portrayed our culture. As a class, we were able to get insight on the different aspects of the several pieces they were showcasing, allowing us to understand the deeper meaning. After, we walked over to the Miramar Food Truck Park, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch. We had some time left so we decided to walk to a park that was directly connected to the sculpture garden in the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. The whole thing looked picturesque. There was a beautiful koi fish pond with a calming waterfall feature. As we strolled around, we got to take in the eye-catching sculptures before we finally headed back to school. “ – Gaby Benítez Ripoll
