Welcome to “the Guide to IB”
International Baccalaureate is the program that as we all know is implemented at Baldwin. As we become more experienced with the program, our opinions become more experience based. Each of us has different opinions, some love it and others don’t, it all depends on you.
I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it.
There are aspects that I love and aspects that I don’t. Some aspects that I do love are:
- The teaching style
- The amount of feedback I get on formatives and summatives
- How your grades actually mean something, they aren’t just an empty number.
The one thing that I don’t love is how demanding it is, the stress we get put under sometimes is too much. So really your opinion depends on your experiences with the program, and how you react to it.
For those people who are still struggling, at the end of the article you’ll find some resources that I think will be helpful in understanding the program more. Although I’m listing outside sources, I always recommend speaking to the coordinators of each program. They can help you with more specific questions and are a resource at school that should be used.
For the first article in this brand new website, I thought I’d keep it simple but as time goes on I’m going to dive deep into specific topics. If you have any topics that you’d like to hear more about leave a comment down below!
