Miss Americana, Taylor Swift once again rumored to be dating famous football player Travis Kelce. The two were first publicly linked when the football star was sighted at Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium in July. Taylor was then seen with Travis’s mom at Arrowhead Stadium during the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears on September 24. From now and then they were seen leaving restaurants together or just walking together from one place to another, where these appearances fed the rumors even more.
Yet why is Taylor also getting hated on for this new rumored relationship? Well, her ex-fiance JoeAlwyn broke off their six year relationship on April 8, 2023. The break up of those two had to hurt her because according to her, he was there for her when no one else was. It’s rumored that she met Joe in 2016. 2016 is the year that no one saw her at all then later in 2017 released her sixth studio album Reputation. She has songs on that album that are about meeting a new person and falling in love, that person who is rumored to be Joe Alwyn. W
hen they confirmed her relationship with Joe she released her seventh studio album lover which is an entire album about mostly love songs rumored and assumed to be about him. She was “head of heels” for him. Since she was so committed and in love with him people assume that she’s moving on too fast with her new relationship.
People say she is moving on too fast or that she’s dating him for PR, but truly Taylor nor Travis have commented on their relationship status. Many believe her relationship with Travis Kelsy is a PR stunt because it wouldn’t be the first time she had a relationship with someone for PR. In 2012 she was dating Harry Styles who was in a band called One Direction at the time. They were dating during a time where both of them were in need to release a new album and needed some clout for those albums. Later then they broke up and Taylor released her first pop album 1989 and had a few songs on there that were rumored to be about Harry Styles. The main song being “Style”, which happened to be his last name.
Others also assume that she’s dating him for a new and upcoming album, just so she can have somewhat of a guidance to her song writing. Most of her albums supposedly have a “lover” in at least one song. These “lovers” are celebrities that she was with or rumored to be with. “Lover” per Album:

The next three albums she released which are Folklore, Evermore and Midnights aren’t really loved albums since she was with Joe Alwyn the entirety of the three albums. Overall in her albums, the relationships she was in were truly in a confirmed relationship with Joe Alwyn and Jake Gyllenhall, meaning that all the other ones she wrote about are rumored or PR stunts, since they all were once eventually seen together by paparazzi. Although Travis and Taylor are still a rumored relationship many believe that they are confirmed as well. When Taylor was sighted at Travis’s game, his mom was later interviewed and was asked about Taylor’s appearance there. She said she’s very protective over her son’s personal life, that the only comment she was going to say is that Taylor was a very caring and fun person to be around and whatever was going on with Taylor and his son was none of the media’s business. This interview led fans to believe that since the mom was so protective that they might be an official couple trying to keep it a secret.
Overall paparazzi are spotting them together weekly, so with time we will find out what truly is happening between popstar Taylor Swift and football star Travice Kelce. Is it a friendship? Is it a PR stunt relationship for promoting Taylor and Travis? Is Taylor using him to move on from her ex-fiance? Or is it truly a real relationship in the dark?
