Ode to Banana Muffin
Follow the recipe
Like notes in a melody
Mix sugar and flour, don’t clutter or splutter
The softer the butter the better the batter
In the oven already
The muffins seem bready almost ready
I go away for a bit
But your smell forces me to baby sit
I’d just go for an afternoon tea
Up on the kitchen counter you were first staring at me
I took a bite loud and proud
Am I biting a muffin or a cloud?
If you were a major I would take your bachelors degree
I wish I could taste this banana rich flavor for eternity
Now tuck inside my tummy
I have to say muffin, you were very yummy
